Importance of Partnering with your Electronics Contract Manufacturer, Then and Now

Driving Partnership to the Next Level

Customer and EMS partnership, shaking hands

Customer expectations change, employee turnover happens, natural disasters impact supply chain, economic changes create concerns or in some cases interruptions to project plans. Most of us have been there, and if not, we are living these challenges today- amid covid circumstances. With the continuous battle of the unending realties of supply chain constraints, extending lead-times, diminished container and shipping/port availability, with the list going on and on…how does one manage to meet or exceed their customers’ expectations?

“Approaching the customer and supplier base differently than most other EMS’s in the market”, says, Michael Murphy, VP of Integrated Supply Chain at Spartronics. Michael continues to explain, “understanding that we are not in control of the pandemics comprising activity we need to creatively consider resilience in the decisions we make each day. Our clients expect us to be proactive and predictive. In no other time has visibility into our organization and transparency into each customers’ unique supply chain been key”.

By encouraging OEM customers to have a home base within its manufacturing facility, Spartronics is focused on driving accountability, strategic planning, and has been effectively supporting customer expectations and growth initiatives.

“While other competitors in the market are struggling to keep customers happy, we’ve made it our priority to overcome this challenge”, says Larry Veiga, VP Business Development.

Larry continues to explain, “Not only do our business development and program managers meet with customers regularly, but our leadership team is taking it to the next level. We personally have added customers visits and conversations to our agenda. Formally meeting with all parties, it is typical to see our CEO, VP Supply Chain, our Distributor partners, Customer teams and myself, meeting frequently these days. From east to west coast daily, we are creating an agile relationship, creatively planning, and holding accountability high to ensure products are manufactured with reliability and delivered on-time. We are proud to say, that we’ve continued to meet on-time deliverability across all our locations during Covid at a 97.4% rate.”

While manufacturing complex electronic devices is one of the main services Spartronics offers, that alone doesn’t differentiate from a sea of EMS providers. Having built a passionate and diverse leadership team; a blend of entrepreneurial and big company experience, many of whom have brought products to market provides the necessary expertise to augment their clients’ own teams in support of helping them realize their visions. At Spartronics, the teams treat each project as if it would have their own name on it. This is the differentiator. Understanding customer needs, complete availability, going “out-of-the-box” when solving for challenges, and always communicating their proactive approach to planning and execution is what supports positive customer experiences today and every day for Spartronics.
